Description

Vinyl Link Mats put a logo on a heavy-duty open-grid scraper built for the doors that punish ordinary mats. Flexible PVC links woven on steel wire pull grit off shoes and let dirt and water fall through the openings instead of sitting on top, so the surface keeps working. The logo is built from colored links rather than printed on, which is why these are among our custom logo mats that hold up where presentation and hard use meet.

The open-link design is the point. Roughly 1/16-inch gaps between links let tracked-in dirt and water drop below foot level, so the mat doesn't load up and turn slick the way a solid surface can. Most of the dirt inside a building arrives on foot traffic, per ISSA — and an open scraper face is built to catch it and get it off the walking line. The flexible links give underfoot traction, and the whole thing is woven onto spring-steel wire so it takes continuous traffic without coming apart.

The construction is engineered for heavy use. It's built from 90-durometer flexible PVC links — 1/2 inch by 1 7/8 inch, 7/16 inch thick — woven onto 11.5-gauge galvanized spring-steel wire with a 1/8-by-1/2-inch steel reinforcing bar running through it. At 2.3 pounds per square foot it stays planted, and the links carry an anti-fungal, UV-stabilized additive for outdoor service. It's backed by a 2-year limited warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

That build suits the busiest doors — building entrances, lobbies, industrial and commercial thresholds, and exterior entries that see weather and grit. It lays flat on the floor with a beveled 2-inch nosing, or drops into a recessed well with square edging, cut to custom sizes for the opening. Use it to carry a logo, mascot, motto, or emblem at the threshold. Because the image is built from colored links rather than printed, expect long service before the links or the logo color start to show their age.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you put our exact logo and colors on a link mat?

Answered by Jinna Hopson, Vice President of Marketing

Yes — from a simple two-tone treatment to a detailed logo or picture, built from colored links across multiple color options. Because the image is made from the links themselves rather than a printed coating, it carries real color contrast at the threshold. One thing to plan around: the beveled and square nosing edges come in black, gray, blue, or yellow only, so we'll coordinate the border color with your design. Send the artwork and we'll confirm how it translates into links.

Will the logo fade or wear off?

Answered by Jinna Hopson, Vice President of Marketing

It holds up far better than a printed face. The logo is part of the link structure rather than a layer sitting on top, so there's no print to scuff away, and the PVC carries a UV-stabilized additive that resists fading outdoors. Color does soften eventually under direct sun and years of traffic, but it's a slow fade rather than a sudden failure. When the colors finally look tired against your brand, that's the signal it's working against the impression and worth replacing.

Can it go outside and handle weather and heavy traffic?

Answered by Dustin Thompson, Owner & CEO

Yes — this is one of the better choices for an exposed, high-traffic door. The galvanized spring-steel wire and steel reinforcing bar carry the load, the 90-durometer PVC links flex without breaking down, and the anti-fungal, UV-stabilized additive is there for outdoor service. The open links let rain and snowmelt drop through instead of pooling on the surface, which is a real advantage at a wet exterior entrance over a solid-faced mat.

Does it sit on top of the floor or drop into a recessed well?

Answered by Dustin Thompson, Owner & CEO

Either, depending on the entrance. For a surface placement it lays flat with a beveled 2-inch nosing that ramps the edge down to the floor so there's no trip lip. For a recessed mat well, it's built with square edging to sit flush in the recess. Both are cut to custom sizes for the opening — give us the dimensions and whether it's surface or recessed, and we'll spec the right nosing.
