Concrete gives nothing back. Stand on it through a shift at a welding bench, machine station, or assembly line and the strain climbs from feet to knees to back — and wherever oil or chemicals reach bare floor, footing goes with it. Why Nitrile Rubber, and Why This One

The working surface is nitrile rubber: grease-proof, oil-proof, chemical resistant, and welding safe, passing the BS-4790 flammability standard. Beneath it sits a high-density, closed-cell nitrile and PVC blended foam cushion that is itself grease- and oil-resistant — so a messy week on the floor doesn't slowly break down the padding underneath.

Three Things to Check Before You Spec It

First, pick the thickness by how much give the job needs. The 5/8-inch version compresses 47.8 percent under 20 psi of load; the 7/8-inch version compresses 51 percent under the same load, cushioning deeper for all-day posts on concrete. Both share the same surface and molded construction.

Second, size to the station or the whole line. Standard mats run from 2 by 3 feet up to 4.8 by 8 feet, and custom sizes come in widths of 2, 3, 4, and 4.8 feet at whole-foot lengths up to 100 feet. Runs over 60 feet carry up to two seams, and rubber sizing is approximate — plan for 3 to 5 percent variance.

Third, choose the border for the setting. Solid black blends into most floors, while OSHA-approved caution yellow borders on two sides mark the mat's edge where forklifts, carts, and foot traffic share an aisle.
